BSNL To Lease Out Its Vacant Apartments In The Very Near Future

KOCHI: BSNL has come up with a wonderful ideal of leasing out its vacant staff quarters and other buildings to cater to the urban housing needs. The company has decided to lease out more than one hundred apartments. Kochi being the commercial hub of the state has 45 1BHK apartments, six 2BHK and two 4 BHK apartments.

A BSNL official said, "As the demand for residential plots is picking up these days, in the cities, our decision to lease out vacant flats will undoubtedly be a welcome move. The government officials that are getting transferred to different locations will be benefited out of this. However, we are not going to lease out our properties to private individuals".

The 4BHK apartments are located in Gandhi Nagar, while five 2BHK apartments are in Panampilly Nagar and Thevara. Also, 49 1BHK apartments are located in the same area. There are 16 apartments in Thiruvananthapuram city, it includes two 4BHK flats, eight 3BHK, five 2BHK and one 1 BHK apartments. All of them are at Kaimanam near Karamana. There are only four apartments within Kollam city limits.

In Thrissur, there are 28 apartments among which 19 are 1BHK flats, while six are 2BHK 3BHK apartments. In Kozhikode, there are five 2BHK apartments at Malaparamba. In Kannur, there are two 1BHK and 2BHK apartments.

BSNL also has plans to rent out apartments in other towns of Kerala. The officials are quite upbeat that this plan will certainly evoke a massive response in the near future. Since private firms and individuals are kept away from this, the response would develop higher in the very near future.
