25 Flats Donated By Vivek Oberoi to CRPF Martyrs
According to a senior official of the Central Reserve Police Force, four flats have been allotted to the families of those served which include 3 jawans killed in the Naxal attack.
Vivek Oberoi, the bollywood actor has donated 25 flats to those sacrificed their lives while on duty, fighting the Naxals. These flats are located in the residential project owned by the actor in Thane, Maharashtra.
A senior reserve police officer said that while four flats have been allotted to the slain jawans which include 3 killed in Sukma, Chattisgargh. The remaining flats will be handed over to the paramilitary force soon. Vivek also said that preference would be given to those in Maharashtra as the flats were located in that state. The CRPF thanked the actor for his generosity on Twitter.
All the 21 more slain jawans’ families will be contacted soon for the allotment to happen by the Oberoi’s company. The flats are located in two buildings. Karrm Residency and Karrm Panchtatva in Thane district, near Mumbai.
In a similar gesture, the Bollywood actor, Akshay Kumar, had recently donated Rs 9 lakh each to the families of the 12 CRPF personnel killed in the March 11 Naxal ambush in Chhattisgarh. Also, the Olympic bronze medallist badminton player Saina Nehwal too had donated Rs 50,000 each to the 12 families.
Under the directives of the Union Home Minister a website, www.bharatkeveer.gov.in has been launched to receive public donations for the families of slain jawans and officers of the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs).
